Assistant Pool Manager (Part-time)
Starting at $16.00 /hour
Wage based on qualifications
The Troy Recreation Department is seeking a part time Assistant Pool Manager. The Assistant Pool Manager is responsible for daily operations of the Community Center indoor pool, including scheduling, supervising, and training pool staff. Has ability to work outdoors at the Troy Family Aquatic Center in the summer.
DUTIES
- Assist with daily operations of the aquatic facility including scheduling, supervising, disciplining and evaluating staff.
- Develop and utilize knowledge of all mechanical operations and pool maintenance procedures.
- Assist manager with planning, developing, and conducting staff meetings/in service trainings.
- Keep records, as required by the County and State Health Department, in order and accessible.
- Accountable for all first aid rendered, including completion and filing of reports.
- Responsible for entire aquatic operation in absence of the manager and communicate daily with Recreation Supervisor when manager is off duty to update and inform on pool, staff, and patron issues.
- Consistently, courteously, and professionally enforce all rules and regulations.
- Maintain a neat, well-groomed appearance and wear approved attire/uniform.
- Inform supervisor/management of any hazards or problems related to the facility, programs, or participants.
- Assist in overseeing the cleanliness of the facility.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- High School graduate (or GED equivalent).
- Minimum of one (1) year experience working at an aquatic facility.
- Current CPR/AED certification and Lifeguarding/First Aid certification through the American Red Cross or lifeguard associated equivalent (Ellis or Star Guard). Please attach applicable copies of certificates to job application.
- As a condition of employment, the successful candidate must pass a pre-employment physical and drug screen (including marijuana).
PREFERENCES
- LGI and WSI certification preferred. Please attach applicable copies of certificates to job application.
- Prefer recent supervisory experience.
- Prefer the completion of some college coursework or degree.
- Experience teaching swim lessons.
HOURS
- Approximately 12-30 hours a week. (part-time year-round.)
- Must be available for at least 40 hours a week during the summer.
