Customer Service Assistant

City Clerk's Office

Starting at $10.00 - $11.50/hour

The mission of the Troy City Clerk's Office is to expeditiously provide accurate and courteous response to all requests for service or information, and to be sensitive to the individual needs of citizens.

The Customer Service Assistant will be assigned to greet and direct visitors who come to City Hall.


  • Provide customer service by answering phone calls, greeting and assisting customers.
  • Review COVID screening protocol for visitors who enter the building.
  • Interact with public in person, by phone, and online.
  • Provide information about the City of Troy and assist a diverse public with referrals to other City Departments.
  • May use a computer and other office equipment to perform work duties.
  • Perform related work as assigned.


  • High school graduate (or GED equivalent).
  • Ability to interact courteously and effectively with the public, City Hall staff, and other City departments.
  • Must be skilled in written and verbal communication.
  • Demonstrate ability and/or experience working with Windows-based computers.
  • As a condition of employment, the successful candidate must pass a pre-employment physical and drug screen (including marijuana).


Part time - Monday Friday, 12 - 24 hours per week.

Probably shifts: 8:00 AM 12:30 PM or 12:00 4:30 PM.

Occasional evenings for after-hour meetings.
